Richard P. Fleitas, Psy.D., Founder/Director
Dr. Richard Fleitas is a licensed clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia and Virginia. He has extensive experience in psychotherapy as well as in cognitive, achievement, personality, and neuropsychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. His specialty areas include mood disorders and post traumatic stress. Dr. Fleitas has used his clinical and consultation skills in a variety of settings, among them: a neuropsychological private practice, medical clinics, community centers, a military hospital, and numerous schools locally and internationally ranging from preschools to the college level. He is frequently asked to testify as an expert witness in cases involving various aspects of mental health and education as related to children.
Dr. Fleitas received a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Communication from Fairfield University in Connecticut. He spent a year in Guayaquil, Ecuador teaching English as a Second Language and providing various social services in an impoverished area. He later received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University in Arlington, Virginia.
Jami Temple, Psy.D., Director of Clinical Services
She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Randolph-Macon Woman's College in Virginia, and received her Master's Degree and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University, DC Campus. Dr. Temple completed an APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at The May Institute in Massachusetts, with primary rotations at the May Center for Education and Neurorehabilitation and the Fernandes Center for Children and Families. Dr. Temple has extensive experience providing behavioral therapy and conducting assessments with children, adolescents, and adults with autism, mental retardation, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and other social-emotional and developmental disabilities. For the last few years, Dr. Temple has provided consultative services and conducted psychoeducational, developmental, social-emotional, and neuropsychological assessments in a wide variety of public and private school settings throughout the greater DC region.
Ysabel Afzelius, MA, Office Manager
Ysabel obtained her MBA in International Hospitality Management from IMI -International Hotel Institute in Lucerne, Switzerland. She then moved to Charlottesville, Virginia and became the Convention Services Manager for the Omni Hotel. Shortly after moving to Northern Virginia in 2012, she obtained her Certificate in Events Management form George Washington University and after took on the role of Executive Nursing Administration Assistant for Northern Virginia Training Center, a home to people with intellectual disabilities.
