Richard P. Fleitas, Psy.D., Founder/Director

Dr. Richard Fleitas is a licensed clinical psychologist in the District of Columbia and Virginia. He has extensive experience in psychotherapy as well as in cognitive, achievement, personality, and neuropsychological assessment with children, adolescents, and adults. His specialty areas include mood disorders and posttraumatic stress. Dr. Fleitas has used his clinical and consultation skills in a variety of settings, among them: a neuropsychological private practice, medical clinics, community centers, a military hospital, and numerous schools locally and internationally ranging from preschools to the college level. He is frequently hired to testify as an expert witness in cases involving various aspects of mental health and education as related to children. 

Dr. Fleitas received a Bachelor's
Degree in Organizational Communication from Fairfield University in Connecticut. He spent a year in Guayaquil, Ecuador teaching English as a Second Language and providing various social services in an impoverished area. He later received a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the American School of Professional Psychology. In 2023, Dr. Fleitas obtained training for his certification as an executive coach through the Center for Executive Coaching

Erica Featherson, Ph.D., Director of Clinical Services 

 

Erica Featherson is a Licensed Psychologist, with a PhD in Counseling Psychology who has experience in both testing and clinical work with working with individuals from the age of 3 to 63, with a particular specialty in treatment with children and adolescents. 

 

Dr. Featherson has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and young adults for over 15 years (both in and outside the school system). She has worked in and outside the school system as a therapist and evaluator providing neuropsychological and psychological evaluation and personality and risk assessments.  Her accumulation of experience has allowed her to work with and diagnose a number of mental health concerns and learning disabilities including, but not limited to: Specific Learning Disability, Autism, ODD, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, Developmental Disorder, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, etc.

 

In addition to her extensive assessment and therapeutic work, Dr. Featherson has vast experience presenting workshops on a variety on mental health and educational topics. She serves a clinical supervisor for a number of graduate students and psychology associates working towards licensure.
